Our Story
Matt’s Repair began in 1980 when founder Matt purchased the assets of Graves Welding, a small welding and blacksmith shop, after gaining hands-on experience working on the family farm and as a welder at U.S. Steel.
Long before owning a business, Matt was already known for fixing and fabricating equipment for local farms—including his own—developing the skills and work ethic that would define the company.
As demand grew, so did the business. The original shop was quickly outgrown, prompting a move to our current facility in Lowell, Indiana. Machining operations, which started in the original building, were eventually relocated to the expanded Lowell site, and the old shop was later sold.
Today, Matt’s Repair offers a full range of metal fabrication, machining, and welding services, supporting customers with everything from precision repairs to complex custom builds. We proudly serve a wide variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, mining, municipalities, and the general public.
